My Weekend in NYC: Shopping & Lawson Concert!

Hey couturettes!

I do not often write posts about what I do on the weekends or in my spare time, so I thought that this would be a good opportunity for y'all to get to know me better and see what I like to do for fun. As you all may know, I live in Washington D.C. which is about 4 hours away from New York City. One of my best friends from high school, Hannah, lives up there and goes to fashion school at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). I  normally go up to visit her at least once a month because we always have an awesome time and there is one very important thing that is in the city: TOPSHOP. The holy grail all of stores in the world is in New York City and is four floors in SoHo. New York is the only city in America that has Topshop. I know that a Topshop line is coming to Nordstrom and that you can shop online, but it just isn't the same. I've been to Topshops in cities around the world and I will never be able to get enough.

In this post I'm going to show y'all a little bit of what I bought and some pictures from the Lawson concert! I only bought four things at Topshop but I feel like they are necessities for my Winter wardrobe.

The first thing I got is the best pair of shoes/booties a girl could ask for. So comfortable, so chic, and so wearable with everything! I'm actually obsessed. Hannah had them and I wore them for a while, and immediately went and bought them when we were at Topshop. Amazing. There is another pair that goes a little higher over the ankles, but I like these ones because they kind of look like Chelsea boots because I can wear cute little socks that will show above the boot.
The next thing on my necessities list; suspender tights. I think they are so sexy! Seriously, I would only really ever wear them on a night out but they make an outfit look 100% hotter than it did before! I think everyone can pull them off depending on the dress that you wear with them. And always wear heels with the tights because that just completes the outfit.

In the picture below, Hannah is wearing them at the Lawson concert! You can only see them peeking out under her dress, but I think that's the point of the tights. HOT.

At first I was a little skeptical with the whole camo trend but as I kept seeing more and more camo clothes, it really grew on me. Then I saw this jacket. Studs AND camo? Winning! I'm such a stud lover that I put studs on so many of my clothes. I just think it's the perfect accessory for every article of clothing. I can't wait to upload photos of me wearing this as the weather gets a littleeee warmer. This jacket won't exactly keep me warm in 15 degree weather, but I am obsessed with it.

Lastly, I got the Topshop essential. The GEEK shirt. I saw everyone wearing it, and I just could not resist. It's just kind of a loose fit tee, but you can dress it up or dress it down. I like to wear it with my super bright read scarf.

Now for my favorite part of the weekend! LAWSON CONCERT. If y'all haven't heard of Lawson, then go to YouTube right now and look them up. They're talented, sexy, and English. I do not think that anyone could ask for more! This is their first tour in the United States and their first show in New York City! This concert is actually the main reason why I went up to New York last weekend. The show was at the Bowery Ballroom in SoHo and it was a small venue which made the show even better. As expected, they were amazing in concert and Andy has the voice of an angel. Apparently the Vamps were there but I didn't see their tweet until I was back in D.C. so I'm pretty heartbroken that I didn't get to meet them! Anyways, the boys were so nice and took photos with everyone afterwards. It was so refreshing because they were so grateful for our support and so shocked that anyone even showed up to their show in the first place. Here are some pictures we took afterwards:

I have such a crush on Joel it's not even funny.

I hope y'all enjoyed this blog post! I know it's pretty different from what I normally do so let me know if you think I should do more posts like this!

Hope you have a wonderful day! xoxo
