My Favorite Mascaras

Hey couturettes!

For the past couple of years I have been obsessed with fake eyelashes, so good or bad mascaras never really mattered to me. It took me less time to put on a pair of lashes than to put on multiple coats of mascara and I thought the false lashes looked better anyways. Recently, I guess I have been either more lazy or going for a more natural look, so I've been really into curling my lashes and using mascara. No matter what I will always curl my lashes before using mascara because I guarantee you that it will make at huge difference and you won't regret it!

My favorite counter mascara is by Lancôme and is called Hynôse Drama. It costs about $27.00 at the Ulta that is near me and nearly every single time that I run out I go and buy a new one. I know that you aren't supposed to use the same product too often, but since I love it I cannot help repurchasing! I'm one of those girls that actually does like clumpy mascara if it's worn properly. I think making your lashes bold perfectly frames your face, so I always put mascara on my bottom lashes as well. The brush is curved at an angle to maximize the curl of the lashes and it truly does stay like that. I recommend this mascara to every single person in the world! It's worth the money because it lasts pretty long even when using multiple coats!

Now onto my favorite drugstore mascara. I will always be faithful to Rimmel. I've been using their mascaras since early 2010 and I will always keep going back. I believe all of their products are absolutely amazing and the release of the Rimmel lipsticks by Kate Moss was just the perfect cherry on top. I have heard a lot of different reviews saying that a lot of people haven't liked the Scandaleyes mascara, but I'm giving it a positive review because I love it! The brush is completely straight which is kind of weird because I normally like curved brushes better, but it works really well with my lashes. I bought it for $6.99 at Ulta. It doesn't flake at all which is very important to me because I absolutely hate having to clean the flakes off my face all day. I always keep a tube of this in my makeup bag just in case I ever run out of the Lancôme Hynôse Drama!

Lips: Mac Brick Lip Liner with Rimmel Kate no.111

Remember to never pump your mascara because it traps in the air and will make your mascara flake!

I promise everyone that I will be more regular about posting on here! I've had midterms lately and I've been swamped with so much work! I have a couple of hauls coming because I just recently visited NYC and did some shopping at Topshop and Zara!

Have a wonderful day! xoxo

Outfit & Makeup of the Day: School/University Look

Hey couturettes!

I got a lot of positive feedback about my most recent post on what I would wear to university classes on a normal day/day I have more time than normal to get ready. I normally wake up pretty early no matter how early my class is. I like to have a lot of time to get ready because I hate feeling rushed. This is my makeup look for the day:

It's a Blake Lively inspired look. She likes to use a lot of golds and pinks and that is right up my alley. It's more of a Spring look, but I keep doing those because I'm just too ready for Spring and some warm weather to come my way. Again, in this look I used the Nude Tude palette by the balm, but this time I also used the Naked palette by Urban Decay. I started off with using the pinks in the Nude Tude palette. Using the brush in the palette, I put the color Stubborn all over my lid then went over it with the color Stand-offish. This gave me a bright look that really brought out my green eyes. Next, I put the color Half Baked from the Naked palette on the outer part of my eyelid. This gave it a gold shimmery tone that I love. Then to finish off the eye shadow, I put the color Sassy from the Nude Tude palette in my tear ducts to brighten up my eyes.

Now onto my outfit! The day I was wearing this was actually a pretty cool day. I didn't need a heavy jacket or anything! I just used a denim shirt to accessorize my black outfit. I rarely wear heels to class because I live in a city and walking around all day in heels is a death sentence. I tend to stick to my Steve Madden boots on a daily, university look basis! This is my outfit of the day:
Denim shirt: American Apparel
Top: Forever 21
Leggings: Lulu Lemon
Boots: Steve Madden
Necklace: Urban Outfitters
Phone case: etsy

Outfit & Makeup of the Day: School/University Look

Hey couturettes!
Today I uploaded a couple photos of my makeup, outfit and jewelry to Twitter and y'all said that you wanted to see a blog post about all of it! If this goes well, I will probably upload some more posts on my outfits if y'all like them.

Starting off with makeup, I went for a cranberry look that I originally saw on Tanya Burr's channel. I only used one cream eye shadow and one eye shadow palette. Using my finger, I put Amber Rush Loreal Infallible eye shadow on my entire lid. Then I rubbed it under my entire waterline. Next, I used the Nude Tude palette by the Balm. Using the brush that comes with the palette, I put the color Sexy in my crease and outer corners of my eyes. Using the smaller side of the brush, I also put Sexy under my waterline. To finish the eye shadow off, I used the white color in the palette called Sassy in my tear ducts to brighten up my eyes.

I finished off the look with some liquid eyeliner and lashes. Then I was done! So easy :)

Now onto my outfit! Recently I bought a studded camo jacket from the Topshop in New York City and I have been dying to wear it. Lately it has been way too cold, but today the sun came out and the temperature was in the high 40s. I consider this to be warm right now because it has been freezing lately. Anyways, this is how I pieced my outfit together today; this is a typical outfit for a day at university.

Studded camo jacket: Topshop
Ruffled tunic: Forever 21
Studded shorts: ASOS
Boots: Steve Madden
Scarf: Nordstrom
Skull bracelet: Shuku New York
Studded Phone Case: etsy

Let me know if y'all would like to see more posts like this! I normally upload my outfit of the day to my Twitter multiple times a week!

Have a wonderful day! xoxo

My Weekend in NYC: Shopping & Lawson Concert!

Hey couturettes!

I do not often write posts about what I do on the weekends or in my spare time, so I thought that this would be a good opportunity for y'all to get to know me better and see what I like to do for fun. As you all may know, I live in Washington D.C. which is about 4 hours away from New York City. One of my best friends from high school, Hannah, lives up there and goes to fashion school at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). I  normally go up to visit her at least once a month because we always have an awesome time and there is one very important thing that is in the city: TOPSHOP. The holy grail all of stores in the world is in New York City and is four floors in SoHo. New York is the only city in America that has Topshop. I know that a Topshop line is coming to Nordstrom and that you can shop online, but it just isn't the same. I've been to Topshops in cities around the world and I will never be able to get enough.

In this post I'm going to show y'all a little bit of what I bought and some pictures from the Lawson concert! I only bought four things at Topshop but I feel like they are necessities for my Winter wardrobe.

The first thing I got is the best pair of shoes/booties a girl could ask for. So comfortable, so chic, and so wearable with everything! I'm actually obsessed. Hannah had them and I wore them for a while, and immediately went and bought them when we were at Topshop. Amazing. There is another pair that goes a little higher over the ankles, but I like these ones because they kind of look like Chelsea boots because I can wear cute little socks that will show above the boot.
The next thing on my necessities list; suspender tights. I think they are so sexy! Seriously, I would only really ever wear them on a night out but they make an outfit look 100% hotter than it did before! I think everyone can pull them off depending on the dress that you wear with them. And always wear heels with the tights because that just completes the outfit.

In the picture below, Hannah is wearing them at the Lawson concert! You can only see them peeking out under her dress, but I think that's the point of the tights. HOT.

At first I was a little skeptical with the whole camo trend but as I kept seeing more and more camo clothes, it really grew on me. Then I saw this jacket. Studs AND camo? Winning! I'm such a stud lover that I put studs on so many of my clothes. I just think it's the perfect accessory for every article of clothing. I can't wait to upload photos of me wearing this as the weather gets a littleeee warmer. This jacket won't exactly keep me warm in 15 degree weather, but I am obsessed with it.

Lastly, I got the Topshop essential. The GEEK shirt. I saw everyone wearing it, and I just could not resist. It's just kind of a loose fit tee, but you can dress it up or dress it down. I like to wear it with my super bright read scarf.

Now for my favorite part of the weekend! LAWSON CONCERT. If y'all haven't heard of Lawson, then go to YouTube right now and look them up. They're talented, sexy, and English. I do not think that anyone could ask for more! This is their first tour in the United States and their first show in New York City! This concert is actually the main reason why I went up to New York last weekend. The show was at the Bowery Ballroom in SoHo and it was a small venue which made the show even better. As expected, they were amazing in concert and Andy has the voice of an angel. Apparently the Vamps were there but I didn't see their tweet until I was back in D.C. so I'm pretty heartbroken that I didn't get to meet them! Anyways, the boys were so nice and took photos with everyone afterwards. It was so refreshing because they were so grateful for our support and so shocked that anyone even showed up to their show in the first place. Here are some pictures we took afterwards:

I have such a crush on Joel it's not even funny.

I hope y'all enjoyed this blog post! I know it's pretty different from what I normally do so let me know if you think I should do more posts like this!

Hope you have a wonderful day! xoxo

DIY: Studded Jean Jacket

Hey couturettes!

Lately I've been looking on Pinterest a lot and I've been wanting to do some crafts. A couple months ago, I saw a video that Sammi (beautycrush) uploaded and I wanted to do it! My mum gave me a jean jacket from asos.com for Christmas this year because she knew that I wanted to put studs on it. I got my studs from a website called studsandspikes.com and I bought the pack of 500 TallEnglish77 Silver Studs.

It took me about two hours to complete and my hands did start getting sore in the middle because you need to bend the sides with a knife and use some of your finger muscles. But all in all, it was the easiest project I've done in a while! The studs have two long parts to it that you stick through the fabric and bend each side with a knife to secure them.

I also put two studs on the collar because I thought it would look cute! I'll upload photos of my outfit of the day tomorrow when I'm wearing it on my twitter! My twitter username is anniebcouture.

Have a wonderful day! xoxo

Holiday Lipstick Haul!

Hey Couturettes!
I have officially uploaded my second YouTube video of the year! I have recently gotten really interested in different lip colors and I bought a bunch of new colors over my Winter Break! I also got a lot of them for Christmas because my family knew that I wanted them! :) I'm linking the video below so y'all can see it! Sorry I filmed at night, I won't do that again because the lighting isn't great in the video at all. Comment what you think about the video at the bottom! And don't forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel! Surprisingly it helps a lot to like the videos! Here it is:
I'm very excited to see what this new year holds for my beauty channel and blog! I'm always optimistic about the New Year even though it may seem cliche! I really want to get very involved in the YouTube community this year because I really want to work for a big time makeup company one day!

On a side note; since I filmed the video I added one more lipstick to my collection! It is called Infrared by Topshop. Topshop's lipsticks are AMAZING! Yet, for me they are so hard to get hold of because the only Topshop near me is the one in New York City and I only go there once every 2-3 months. The pigment is perfect and you can completely control the color of it - how dark or light it is. Lately, I've been trying to wear it pretty dramatically because I am really into the whole orange lip look. You do definitely need to prime your lips with either concealer or a lip primer if you want this to last all day long.

This weekend is the presidential inauguration, but the weekend after that I am going up to New York City to stay with one of my best friends and hit up a couple of concerts in the area. Olly Murs and Lawson are both performing that weeend! Couldn't be anymore excited! I will buy some more Topshop lipsticks to show y'all! I'll definitely be posting a lot more this year! I am back and settled at university in Washington DC, so I will be able to get my life back together and start posting regularly again.

Have a wonderful day & don't forget to subscribe to my beauty channel! xoxo
